Rest assured, you do not need to understand crypto to be a part of The Tide.
$STARFISH has not launched.
There is no contract address, nothing to buy and nothing to swap. If you see a token calling itself $STARFISH anywhere today, it is not ours — do not buy it. When it launches, the official address will be published on this page and on the transparency page, and you will be able to check it on a public block explorer without asking us.
People from all walks of life and all around the world are drawn to the mission of The Tide. For many, $STARFISH may even be their first experience with cryptocurrency — and that is perfectly okay. In fact, we built The Tide with you in mind!

So, why use blockchain at all, you may be asking yourself?

The first step is simply deciding that you want to be part of a positive, uplifting global community. However you choose to participate, you are helping build The Tide. Welcome aboard!

There are many ways to build your wave of impact. Upload an act of kindness. Nominate a future Wave Partner. Hold at least 1 $STARFISH and vote for the next Wave Partner. Donate directly to one of our Waves of Impact Partners. Or purchase and hold $STARFISH as your connection to The Tide ecosystem and community.
Every person can participate differently. That is the idea. Small actions from people around the world begin building something much bigger.

Create Impact
This is where individual participation begins to become measurable collective impact.
Acts of kindness are shared. Wave Partners receive community support. Votes help determine where The Tide directs its next wave of support. And every $STARFISH buy and sell through The Tide's liquidity pool generates an IMPACT Fee that can help support those same community-selected causes.
What begins with individual participation now becomes something we can see, measure, and build together.

Return $STARFISH to the sea
This is where our impact becomes directly connected to $STARFISH.
Every verified act of kindness uploaded to The Tide — up to 3 per person, per day — returns 1 $STARFISH (starfish) to the sea, permanently removing it from circulation.
One act. One $STARFISH Returned to the Sea.
Our initial goal: 100 million verified acts of kindness and up to 100 million $STARFISH returned to the sea.
Community support creates another path back to the sea. For every $1 USD in verified contributions made to our Waves of Impact Partners, 1 $STARFISH is also returned to the sea.
Those contributions can come from two places:
Direct community donations, and the 1.0% IMPACT Fee on every $STARFISH buy and sell through The Tide's liquidity pool.
Think of a liquidity pool as the digital supply of $STARFISH and funds that makes buying and selling $STARFISH possible. The Tide provides all of the launch liquidity, on Uniswap on the Base network, and locks its position permanently. Every buy and sell through that pool pays the 1.0% IMPACT Fee. UNCX, the service that holds the lock, keeps 2% of the fees when they are collected, and 100% of the rest goes to the community-selected Wave Partner. Uniswap may add a small fee of its own on top, paid by the trader. Trades on other pools don't pay the IMPACT Fee.
Between direct community donations and IMPACT Fees, our initial collective goal is to generate up to $100 million in verified contributions to our Waves of Impact Partners — returning up to another 100 million $STARFISH to the sea along the way.
So, we have two simple ways to measure our collective impact:

That figure is zero because the token does not exist yet, so nothing has been returned. It is read from our own records every time this page loads, and there is no stored copy of it to drift out of date.
The Tide rises
As more people participate, more acts of kindness are shared, more support reaches our Wave Partners, and more $STARFISH is returned to the sea. Our collective impact grows and The Tide rises.
However, the cycle does not end there. A rising Tide brings more people into the movement, inspiring new participation, new acts of kindness, and new waves of impact around the world.
One person creates a ripple. Ripples become waves. Together, we create The Tide, rising together and creating positive impact around the world.
$STARFISH is one of several ways to participate in The Tide. You do not need $STARFISH to share kindness, nominate Wave Partners, or support the causes you care about.
